There’s only one more day left in 2014 so let’s take a moment to have a look back at the last year. Recipes are a huge part of Merry About Town and there were many published on the blog in the last year. As you can imagine, there are a few that bubble to the surface as the most popular. Interestingly, many of the ones viewed most often in the last year were not actually published in 2014. Thanks to platforms like Pinterest, recipes from the past can become popular again months or weeks after they are published. It’s always interesting to me to see what people like the most….it’s often NOT what I would think it would be.
Here are my most popular recipes for 2014 listed from most popular down.
Italian Sausage Pasta Bake – My family loves this cheesy casserole and requests it often. It is oh so good!
Southern Peach Cobbler – Sweet, buttery and peachy, this cobbler will be a big hit whenever you serve it. Make sure to bake it long enough to get those delicious browned butter bits along the edges. YUM!
No-Bake Peanut Butter Crunchies – One of my favorite cookies from childhood, these no-bake crunchies are easy to make and have a wonderful peanut buttery, chewy and cruncy taste.
Super Chocolatey Coca Cola Cake – A Southern staple, this cake is as easy as it is decadent. Moist, delicious and chocolatey, it is a great cake to take to a potluck.
Paleo Avocado Brownies – From those 5 1/2 minutes that I was trying to go Paleo, these brownies are delicious even if they are *mostly* healthy.
Homemade Nuts and Bolts Snack Mix – I made a big batch of this just last week to munch on over Christmas. The only downside? You end up with a bunch of half full cereal boxes. Oh well….guess I need to make some more. YUM!
Grilled Breakfast Casserole – Perfect for camping, this delicious casserole can be made right in your grill if you are camping or in your oven at home.
Overnight Blueberry French Toast Casserole – Perfect for a special holiday breakfast, this recipe is assembled the night before. French bread, blueberries and cream cheese come together to make a delicious breakfast casserole.
Retro Cherry Dump Cake – I can remember my mom making this cake growing up. It is super easy and you probably have most of the ingredients in your cupboard right now.
Overnight Breakfast Enchiladas – Love the idea of an overnight breakfast casserole but not the idea of a sweet, french toast one? Well, this recipe is for you. These breakfast enchiladas are awesome!
And there you have it. The top 10 recipes of 2014. Many are repeats from the Top 10 Recipes of 2013 but a few are new.
