Normally by this time of the year we would have 4 or 5 camping trips under our belts. With the Alberta flooding, Stampede parking fundraising for Evan’s school and our trip to Austin, this year we haven’t been camping a single time. Our friends asked us if we would like to join them camping in Whitefish, Montana this week so we are going to get at least one trip in this year. Phew!
Since it is quite a long drive to Whitefish, we decided to break the drive up a bit. We are heading to BC to camp for two nights before heading south across the border. Fun fact…though I’m American, this will be my first trip to Montana. So far the forecast for the weekend looks a bit iffy but the forecast for Whitefish looks great so we should have a few good beach days for sure.
We’re keeping Evan busy with movies, activity books and a new Crayola dry erase crayon board. It definitely wins the best road trip toy award. So glad I bought it on the spur of the moment at Toys R Us! It’s kept his “Are we there yet?” questions to a somewhat manageable level.
I hope you are all enjoying your long weekend (if it is a long weekend for you). So far, so good for us.
