No fry chicken parm is one of my family’s favorite dinner dishes. I was drawn to this recipe because my family LOVES Italian (ish) food. I knew this would probably be a big hit when Will & Nicole come over and I was soooo right.
This no fry chicken parm came together quickly and didn’t require me to fry the chicken first. Best part? They loved it and requested that I make it again soon. A quick and easy dinner recipe that’s kid and family-friendly? Perfect!
No Fry Chicken Parm Recipe
This is THE easiest chicken parm recipe you’ll ever make. It’s a bit of a reimagining of classic, time-intensive chicken parmegiana. I love that it’s so much easier to make that traditional parm, and I also love the unique way the breading is handled.
All in all, I think you’ll agree that this is probably the most unique version of chicken parm you’ve ever seen, too. While the method might be unique, the flavor is all classic chicken parm.
INGREDIENTS
The ingredients needed to make this dish are fairly straightforward. Coutons are use in place of breading, which makes things much easier. Using jarred sauce helps speed the whole thing along, as well.
- 12 boneless skinless chicken thighs
- 2 Tbsp Olive Oil
- 3 cloves garlic
- red pepper flakes to taste, I used probably 1/4 tsp
- 2 cups jarred spaghetti sauce, I used Newman’s Own Marinara
- 8 oz mozzarella cheese
- 4 oz parmesan cheese
- 1 1/2 cups croutons
INSTRUCTIONS
Here’s where the ease of cooking really shines through in this no fry chicken parm. Rather than having to dredge the chicken and then fry it on the stove top, this chicken parm recipe only uses the oven, and it’s super straightforwrd.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Pour the olive oil in the bottom of an 11X13 casserole dish.
Add 3 cloves of garlic, pressed and pepper flakes to taste.
Evenly spread the chicken thighs across the bottom.
Pour approximately 2 cups of spaghetti sauce over chicken and spread with spoon.
Add more until the chicken thighs are evenly covered.
Add half of the mozzarella cheese and half the Parmesan cheese.
Top with croutons. I covered the top but I didn’t use a TON of croutons….just eyeball it.
Top with the remaining cheese.
Bake for about 35 minutes or until the chicken is done through.
Recipe Notes: This is delicious and really does taste like chicken parmesan without the frying. Very kid friendly. Everyone loved it.

It looks so tasty and cheesy, I do love to eat them so badly. I wonder if my mom could cook this. Maybe we should give it a try. First timer might not be bad. :)

Kinda the same here. Everyone loved it but Evan. He's so picky these days. He still eats lots of different foods but he does NOT want them all mixed together. I swear he's going to be a chef that makes all kinds of "deconstructed" dishes.
