Disclosure: I received the Canadian Subscription Box, Sweet Reads Box, for review. As always, all opinions are my own.
Living with your child on the road non-stop for 8 months can leave you saying “Self care? What is this thing you call self care?” I gave up getting my nails done. I gave up getting my hair done. I took showers in a communal bath house. It was not a time where I took time out for ME. Instead, I spent my time trying to get Evan to learn all the things and keep him busy. Now that I am back in town, I want to figure out a way to get back to taking care of myself. Checking out the Canadian subscription box, Sweet Reads Box fit right in to that.
Canadian Subscription Box for Readers – The Sweet Reads Box
The Sweet Reads Box is the brainchild of Canadians Kerrie and Mark. They wanted to bring great reads and carefully curated items to Canadians’ mail boxes. They personally select new novels with a broad appeal. You also get:
- an item connected to your novel’s storyline/theme/setting
- a delicious drink to set the mood.
- a sweet treat to enjoy while reading
- a card explaining our choice of novel and how your items connect.
June’s novel is The Lost Girls of Camp Forevermore by Kim Fu. I am so excited to start reading it. I am almost done with my current book (The Magic Strings of Frankie Presto) and this one is next on my list. Plus Kerri and Mark knocked it out of the park on their curation this month. Want to see what all was included? Watch my June unboxing video below! You can see what has been included in past boxes too.
It’s like the Sweet Reads Box was just made for ME. A great novel, yummy snack mix (ummmm…yeah I already opened it), an awesome mug and more. Plus, everything is something I will USE. I don’t want a box full of stuff that I have to do something with. At the rate I’m going, the snack mix will be gone and everything else will be used up by the end of the week. Well, except the mug. It will be taking it’s place of honor in my mug cabinet of happiness.
Let’s face it, you can’t buy relaxation and happiness. Spending the money just doesn’t do it for me. BUT, buying the Sweet Reads Box that includes a book that will help me tune out the world and return to reading? That is worth the money. 100%.
Sweet Reads Box Details:
Currently the Sweet Reads Box is only available in Canada. (But it’s awesome that we have a fun Canadian Subscription Box, am I right?)
You can pick from 1 month, 3 month or 6 month subscription options. You can also purchase past boxes if they are available.
Don’t forget to follow Sweet Reads Box on Facebook and Twitter too!

Just wondering if I could get another “every child matters T-shirt” like the one that came in one of my Sweet Reads boxes.

You'll have to reach out to Sweet Reads themselves. I don't work for the company.

I thought SweetReads would make a great gift. I have four recipients I wanted to have sent a box. One box to three women and I sent a message asking if I could buy extra goodies so the box could be shared. One box just as described.
Sent three different messages plus two messages through their Facebook page and I received no replies.
Very disappointed.
Can you recommend another subscription service that would have a similar box?
Thanks

Valerie,
I’m sorry you feel our answers weren’t what you wanted to hear. We did have a delay in getting back to you and apologized. As we explained we cannot split up the items in the box to different receipients.
We wish you all the best in your search for gift items that suit your needs.
