I love sliders, don’t you? What is a slider anyway? Wikipedia says the word slider primarily refers to small hamburgers but is sometimes used to describe any small sandwich made with a slider roll. We love my Bacon Cheeseburger Sliders Recipe but sometimes we want a non-burger option too. Enter my Pesto Chicken Sliders Recipe!
I am a HUGE fan of pesto. It takes any sandwich or slider to the next level. Pesto is easy to make at home but the jarred pesto at Costco is amazing too (in case you are lazy like me).
Pesto Chicken Sliders Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 package of Hawaiian or tray dinner rolls
- 2 cups chopped rotisserie chicken or shredded chicken
- 3 ounces prepared pesto
- 6 slices Mozzarella or Havarti cheese
- 3 tablespoons butter, melted
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon dried basil
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cut a tray of Hawaiian rolls or dinner rolls in half horizontally. Spray a glass dish and put the bottom half of the rolls in.
Spread the pesto out over the bottom half of the rolls.
Add chopped chicken on top of the pesto. You can use a rotisserie chicken or my Instant Pot Shredded Chicken.
Add sliced mozzarella or Havarti cheese.
Place the top of the rolls on top. Melt the butter and mix in garlic powder and dried basil. Pour this over the top of the rolls and brush it over the rolls to spread out evenly. Cover with foil and bake for 10 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-12 minutes.

Pesto Chicken Sliders are a tiny yet delicious sandwich that is perfect as an appetizer or a snack. Your family will rave about their new favourite slider recipe!
Ingredients
- 1 package Hawaiian rolls
- 2 cups rotisserie chicken, chopped or shredded
- 3 ounces pesto
- 6 slices mozzarella or havarti cheese
- 3 tablespoons butter, melted
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon dried basil
Instructions

- Spray a 9x13 casserole dish with non-stick cooking spray.
- Cut the loaf of rolls in half and remove the top portion. Place the bottom half of the rolls in your prepared dish.
- Spread pesto out over the bottom half of the rolls. Top with chicken, followed by cheese slices, and then the top of the rolls.
- Melt butter and mix in garlic powder and dried basil. Pour this over the top of the rolls and brush it over the rolls to spread out evenly.
- Cover with foil and bake for 10 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-12 minutes.
- Serve with additional pesto, if desired.
