Could I Get Some HELP in Here?

Backstory – Evan has been sleeping in his bed more and more these last few weeks (YAY!) so every morning he toodles into our room to say good morning. Often we turn on cartoons or have a morning chat (depending on the time he makes his arrival).

This morning I hear Evan pad into our room.  He piles onto the bed and starts talking to me & Dewey.  I still had one eye closed so I really can’t remember what he was prattling on about.  All of a sudden he yells “I have to PEEE!” and bails off the bed.  I hear him head into our bathroom but two seconds later he runs out.  I think “Great. Why can’t he pee in the bathroom instead of on the potty in his room???? Ugh!”

Next thing I hear…..”Mama…I spilled!”

Uh oh.

He runs by with the potty insert (not that I see this…I just hear him dump it in the toilet) and he yells again “Mama…I spilled my potty.”  I asked him if it was a little or a lot.  He said only a little.

Gross

I said “Well, get some tissue and clean it up.” He did NOT like that idea. He told me that I needed to get up and clean it up.  I, with one eye still closed, ignored him.

He then heaved a big sigh and said “Well, I guess this is MY job now!” Complete with attitude.  He headed back to his room.

“I’m cleaning up in here!” quickly followed by “Could I get some HELP in here?”

Yeah….’tude as far as the eye can see.

HAHA! That sounds like my 5 year old. I get the rolling of the eyes and the sigh when I ask him to do something! Sheesh...can't wait till they are teenagers ;)

My daughter is the same way... it's a non-stop 'tude fest. She's 3 right now and sometimes I feel like I'm the butler that she is bossing around and demanding things from. Brutal!

Evan's like that too. We have started ignoring him until he rephrases his request into a nice non-'tude request instead of a demand.

I wish I could tell you it will get better...the attitude, not the spilt pee...LOL. They do eventually become civilized again. My daughter can go from sweet angel to full on diva mode faster than you can blink. and it ain't funny or pretty!
