We all know I’m not crafty but I’ve been pretending I am these last few months. I spend way too much time lusting after yarn in the craft aisles. So today, to celebrate National Craft Month, I have come up with a list of what I really, really want (need) for my crafting table.
I have an order in for hooks similar to these, Crochet Hooks set of 9 with Soft Ergonomic Grip Handle, Aluminum Tip with Smooth Amour Handle, Beautiful Rainbow Colors. When you are crocheting at a mad pace like I am, you need cushy plastic handles to keep your fingers from falling off. Plus buying the whole set is WAY cheaper than buying one hook at a time at the store.
I love these HOUSWEETY Wooden Owl Buttons. I’m going to be trying my hand at making coffee cup cozies and I think these would make them super cute, don’t you?
Hitting the road with your crochet? Here are two fun bags that I have my eye on…I want them both!
Not a crocheter? Well, have you tried crossstich? Before you roll your eyes and think BOOOOORRRRIIIINNNGGGG…know that you can make it as fun as you want. Check out this Subversive Cross Stitch book for your sassy side….complete with curse words.
Does photography count as a craft? It’s my post so I’m going to say that it does. Taking pictures in the winter in Calgary is pretty much impossible except for a few midday hours. I keep saying I’m going to buy a proper lightbox for food photography but it has never happened. Maybe I’ll get one of these bad boys – CanadianStudio STUDIO IN A BOX PHOTO LIGHT TENT PHOTOGRAPHY SET 1000 watt output Continuous Light Kit. It looks perfect for what I need.
Coloring for adults is all the rage. It is fun, relaxing, easy and low commitment (unlike some crafts). This Secret Garden and colored pencil bundle is a great way to hit the ground running.
Feeling a little magical instead? Check out this fantastic Harry Potter Coloring Book. Fun!
Evan has been working with a Weaving Loom at school to make mini Tunisian rugs. He is having so much fun that I think it is something I may try to do at home with him. I am always on the lookout for something he really enjoys that doesn’t involve a screen.
