Easy Easter Treats – Dipped Peanut Butter Pops

Easy Easter Treats – Dipped Peanut Butter Pops

Easter is less than a week away. How did that happen? I am so unprepared! If I’m not careful, the Easter Bunny may show up empty handed! Today I had the fun privilege of shooting an Easter segment for Shaw TV. I made one treat and one craft. Today I am posting the treat directions so stay tuned tomorrow for the craft. As always, I had a blast filming it. The only crazy things is how fast 3 1/2 minutes flies by!

Getting Ready to Make Easy Easter Pops

Step 1: Gather your supplies. You’ll need:

  • Ritz Crackers or similar
  • Peanut butter (if you have an allergy, you can use any other cracker filling you would like. Salty/not too sweet fillings will taste better)
  • Candy melts (can be found at craft or grocery stores)
  • Sprinkles
  • Sucker sticks
  • Wax paper
  • Gel food coloring (if desired)
  • Cake pop bags (if desired, can be found at craft stores)

Step 2: Spread one cracker with a generous amount of peanut butter. Lay sucker stick in peanut butter at least 3/4 up the cracker. Spin the stick to cover with peanut butter and place another cracker on top to make a sandwich.

Step 3: If you have time, let prepared crackers harden in the freezer for a while. If not….carry on realizing that you may have to use a spoon to remove your peanut butter pops from the candy coating if they start falling off the stick.

Step 4: Microwave your candy melts using the directions on the package. If you want additional colors, use gel food coloring to achieve the color you prefer. If the candy coating gets too firm because it cools, microwave for a short time to remelt it. If it gets too firm and melting doesn’t help, add tiny amounts of milk to it until it becomes liquid again.

Step 5: Dip each peanut butter cracker on a stick into the melted candy coating. Use a spoon to spoon coating over the cracker until it is completely enrobed. Let any excess run off and place on wax paper to cool. If you would like, add sprinkles or drizzle with a different color of candy melt.

Step 6: Let cool completely, wrap in cake pop bags if desired and enjoy.

Easter Pop Bouquet

Sweet, salty and crunchy, these pops make a decadent treat or a great gift. It is also a very kid friendly activity because they can easily decorate them using sprinkles or colored candy melt coating.

They are SO GOOD. Unfortunately there were a few leftover and I just inhaled one. They are a tad bit dangerous!
