Pizza Sliders Recipe
Ingredients:
12 tray buns, still connected
¼ c pizza sauce
12 slices mozzarella cheese
9-12 pizza ham or deli ham slices
9-12 pizza pepperoni or deli pepperoni slices (larger size, see notes)
1/3 c butter, soft
1 tsp garlic, minced
2 tsp parmesan cheese, grated
Instructions:
1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
2. Cut the tray buns in half horizontally and place them onto a baking pan/sheet that you will be using to bake the sliders. Line your pan with parchment to make it less messy!
3.
On the bottom half of the buns, spread the pizza sauce
4. Cover with 6 slices of mozzarella cheese (or more, to cover the surface of
the buns)
5. Add the ham slices
6. Add the pepperoni slices on top of the ham slices
7. Lay the remaining mozzarella slices on top of the pepperoni
8. Cover with the top layer of the tray buns.
9. In a small bowl, combine the butter, garlic, and grated cheese.
10. Spread the butter mixture liberally over the top of the buns.
11. Bake in the oven for 12 – 15 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown and the cheese is melted
12. Remove from the oven and let sit for a few moments to cool slightly so they can be eaten by hand.
Notes: Some pizza pepperoni is thick. You will want to purchase the thinner sliced pepperoni that is 2 – 3” wide. If you can’t find that size, the smaller thinner medallion sized pepperoni slices will work as well.
