Happy Halloween 2011!

Evan has been soooo excited for Halloween.  He’s been talking about it for days and kept asking “Tomorrow?”  Today was finally the day and then we woke up to this…..

Happy Halloween! Our first snow!

Happy Halloween! Our first snow!

Thankfully the sun came out and the snow melted.  Evan decided that he wanted to go as the Alien from Toy Story again this year (or Bop the Alien as he likes to call him).  I was a bit disappointed since I AM a blogger and I would love some new pictures to post.  Oh well, he’s a pretty cute alien & there is NO WAY he will fit in the costume again next year (thank goodness!).

Me & my little alien. Happy Halloween!

Sorting Out Evan’s Candy Haul

We had 110 kids come by trick or treating. We handed out Playdoh, mini chocolate bars and a few Kinder Surprise eggs to the happy hordes. I was happy to see that the Playdoh was a huge hit even though it wasn’t candy.

Do you celebrate Halloween? How many Trick or Treaters did you have? The numbers of trick or treaters in Calgary seem to be falling with more & more families taking their kids to malls, etc. Here’s what others are saying about this phenomenon.

Linked up at By Word of Mouth Musings – I named this cute little bat Battie b/c well…I’m a bit batty. 🙂

Thank you so much for linking up to Howlerific halloween #BOO, so far behind over here with a week in DC and then a conference that had no internet (yes, a social media conference with no internet lol) Thank you ...loving trick or treating today with a big bag of candy by my side ;)

I'm not sure how many kids we ended up getting. Mike's Mom usually hands out the candy for us, while we trick or treat with the littles. The costume is uber cute.

that was our halloween last year. it was about 10 degrees here, so nice for trick or treating. i love that alien costume! we got a grand total of 16 kids. and that includes the 10 kids from our street. if only the neighbourhood kids would realise what a gold mine out street is. everyone was outside chatting on the sidewalks with their big buckets of candy looking to give it out. made for a nice night in the hood though.

I love the Alien costume!! My kids really enjoyed seeing it too. My son had a couple of years that he wanted to wear the same costume..... it was Tinkerbell :( LOL We had probably close to 70-80 here - which is a bit lower. There is no big mall near our small town, so I am not sure where they are all going. perhaps travelling into the city. For me, I just love going around our neighborhood. To me it builds community. And we were lucky last night -- a bit of frost on the morning ground....but a nice balmy 10 degrees by trick or treating time.
