Are you scratching your head wondering what Williams Syndrome is? Well, you are not alone. I had never heard of Williams Syndrome until I met fellow blogger, Melanie of Mommydo.com at ROAM in Vancouver a few weeks ago. Her daughter, Alma, has Williams. Since I had never heard of it, I was full of questions and learned a ton in a small time. Melanie and I bonded over chats about advocating for our kids with the education system.
So…why should you care? Well, since Williams is so rare, it often doesn’t get the funding or help that it should. I have volunteered to help Melanie get the word about Williams out to the world. I will be helping out with a fun and informative twitter party taking place on Tuesday May 31st at 9pm ET (7 pm MT). The twitter party will be supporting Williams Syndrome and the happiest walk in canada. There will be over $500 in prizes up for grabs for registered attendees. To be eligible, follow @mommydoCA, @JennPowellLive, @TheInspiredHome, @Maple_Marigold, @SherrieMae23, @JennAnnis and Merry120 and RSVP here:
Let’s back up a bit….what is the happiest walk in canada?
Well, it’s a virtual walk held through social media channels will give anyone, anywhere the opportunity to support, increase awareness and fund raise for Williams Syndrome. Participants simply make a video or snap a photo of their #WSHappyWalk then post and share with our hashtag and donation link, then challenge friends and family to do the same.
