Airplane Party Loot Bags

Last week, I wrote about the in-flight meals and cloud cupcakes I made for my son’s airplane party. This week, I’m giving you a tutorial for creating airplane party loot bags, and ideas about how to fill them.

HOW-TO

To create loot bags shaped like airplanes, you need: cardstock (I used white, pale blue and red); a glue gun; scissors; and boxes. I got my boxes at Michael’s. They were 4 x 4 x 4 inches.

Step 1: Fold those suckers up.

Step 2: Cut out wing, tail, and propeller shapes and glue them on. Click on the pic below to launch a printable pdf.

Step 3: Admire your adorable plane-shaped loot bags.

FLIGHT LOGS

I also made the kids Flight Logs to go inside the loot bags. I bought small journals like these at Wal-Mart:

Then I created a “flight log” cover, printed it, and glued it to the front of the journals. You can download the flight log covers here – you may have to play around with the sizing a bit.

Now they’re ready for your tiny pilots!

AIRPLANE LOOT BAG FILLERS

I put the following items in the kids’ loot bags. Most of this came from Party City.

Each of the kids got a flight log and mini pen, a toy plane, pilot wings, a compass ring, a propeller toy, and an M&Ms airplane. The thank you tag was part of a package of printables that I bought on Etsy.
