This Mandarin Orange Fluff Salad makes a great dessert in the warmer months. Made up of Jell-o, pudding, whipped cream, mandarin oranges and marshmallows, you won’t even believe how easy it is to whip-up.
I’m always up for a no-bake dessert – especially in summer months. To me, no-bake desserts are a great way to change-up our otherwise traditional treats (which we constantly have at home), like cupcakes, cookies, etc.
I recently put together the sweetest and most fun dessert: an Orange Fluff Salad, which reminds me so much of the ambrosia salads from my childhood. Another fun salad like this one is a Strawberry Banana Fluff Salad.
What is an Mandarin Orange Fluff Salad?
My mandarin orange fluff salad consists of delicious ingredients that we all know and love: including Jell-o, pudding and whipped cream. These ingredients get mixed in with a generous serving of mandarin oranges, which is why it often gets referred to as Mandarin Orange Fluff Jello Salad.

They may not be your usual mix of ingredients, but the final result will have you begging for seconds (and thirds!).
Why Is Something Sweet Called a Salad?
Jell-O salads might not fit the traditional definition of a salad as we think of it today…a bowl full of greens and veggies but many still call them “salads”. This comes from the past when salads followed the general concept of combining ingredients (any ingredients) in a bowl and serving them cold. Over time, the term “salad” came to be associated with Jell-O salads, even though they are quite different from the leafy green salads we have today.
