Delicious Mocktail Recipes To Try!

Our family LOVES to entertain. It’s not a new thing for us but I am trying to up my game a bit this year. I’m looking around my house to see what all I need to clean or replace before the holiday season hits. I’m also trying to improve my repertoire of drinks for holiday entertaining. In the past, we’ve done a great job of having wine on hand but what about people who don’t drink? Or what about my friends who are expecting little ones soon? Should they be stuck drinking water or pop? Heck no! Instead try these great mocktail recipes!

Mocktails are fun and tasty like traditional cocktails without the alcohol that is dangerous during pregnancy. Studies have shown that any alcohol at any stage of pregnancy can lead to FASD (Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder). FASD includes a range of physical, mental and behavioural effects and learning disabilities, including difficulties with language, poor impulse control, and attention or judgment problems. Unlike the effects of many other illicit drugs, the effects of in utero alcohol exposure are lifelong. Thankfully FASD is 100% preventable.

Rock-a-Bye Slushy

Rock-a-Bye Slushy

I decided to try a couple of mocktail recipes myself and test them out on the family. First up is the Rock-a-Bye Slushy! Dewey gave this one a try and it was his favourite. I see many more of these in my future. I love the little bits of cherry in the slushy mixture. Two YUMS up for sure!
