It’s that time of year when everything starts switching from pumpkin spice to peppermint. As delicious as pumpkin spice is, these Peppermint Oreo Truffles are a perfect way to indulge a love of all things peppermint and chocolate. Just the thought of them makes my mouth water! You’re going to love these delicious candies.
Perfect for gifts, taking to the holiday cookie exchange, or simply enjoying with family and friends, these treats are quick and simple to make. The most time-consuming part is the refrigeration time. I like to pop them in the fridge while I work on some other goodies to maximize my time.
Peppermint Oreo Truffles
Ingredients:
18 vanilla Oreos
4 oz. cream cheese, softened
12 peppermint candies
1 cup red candy melts
1 tsp coconut oil
Instructions:
Line a baking sheet with wax paper and set aside.
Use a food processor to bring the vanilla Oreos to a fine crumble.
Mix Oreo crumbles and cream cheese in a large bowl.
Place peppermint candies in a plastic zip-up bag and use a rolling pin to crush them.
Pour ¼ cup of the crushed peppermint candies into the bowl of Oreo crumbs and cream cheese. Mix thoroughly.
Reserve the remaining crushed peppermint candies for garnishing later.
Roll the Oreo mixture into 1-inch spheres and place gently on a lined baking sheet.
Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
In 30 second intervals, microwave candy melts and coconut oil in a small bowl until completely melted.
Dip each Oreo truffle into the melted candy and place it back on a lined baking sheet. Sprinkle with crushed peppermint.
Refrigerate for an additional 20 minutes. Serve and enjoy!
Yields: 9 to 12 truffles
