Quick & Easy Peanut Butter Beef Curry

Coming up with something new and exciting to cook after a full day of work is hard. Thankfully I have a few blogs that I go to over and over again for inspiration! Dinner With Julie is one of those. When I saw her recipe for Quick Peanut Butter Curry, I knew I had to try it.

Quick & Easy Peanut Butter Beef Curry

Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 20 minutes
Total Time: 30 minutes

An easy and delicious curry with a rich peanut butter curry sauce.

Ingredients

  • 3/4 pound steak, approximately
  • vegetable oil
  • 3 garlic cloves
  • 2 tsp curry paste, I used mild
  • 3 tbsp peanut butter
  • 3/4 can coconut milk

Instructions

  1. Season steak with salt and pepper. Slice thinly.
  2. Heat oil in a large cast iron skillet.
  3. Sear the steak slices until browned. Remove the slices to a plate.
  4. Add the garlic cloves and curry paste to the skillet.
  5. Cook for a moment and then add the peanut butter and coconut milk.
  6. Cook for a few moments to thicken and add the sliced steak back in.
  7. Serve hot over rice. We like steamed broccoli on the side.

I would like to make this for my children, but they don’t like anything too spicy. The recipe uses hot chilli powder, can I ask, does this just give the dish a warmth or is it quite spicy? I am thinking of substituting with mild chilli powder, but don’t want to lose the depth of flavour.

Thanks for the recipe, it sounds good. Can you please tell me what cut of steak you usually use or can use.
