What Ingredients Do I Need for Crock Pot Bananas Foster?

The best part about this Banana Foster recipe is that you don’t need complicated ingredients to whip it up. This is what you’ll need:

  • Bananas
  • Brown sugar
  • Butter
  • Rum
  • Vanilla extract
  • Cinnamon
  • Walnuts
  • Coconut

Also, don’t forget the ice cream! I love serving my bananas foster with a big scoop of vanilla ice cream, and even some pound cake on the side.

How to Make Bananas Foster in the Slow Cooker

Ingredients

  • 5 medium size firm bananas
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup butter, melted
  • ¼ cup rum
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • ⅓ cup walnuts, chopped
  • ⅓ cup coconut, sweetened
  • Optional: vanilla ice cream & pound cake for serving

Instructions for Easy Bananas Foster

Begin by peeling each banana and cutting them in half, lengthwise.

Layer the banana halves in the bottom of slow cooker.

In a bowl whisk together melted butter, brown sugar, rum, vanilla, and cinnamon.

Pour the butter and sugar mixture over the bananas.

Cover and cook on low for 1 ½  hours.

Divide the bananas over pound cake if desired and garnish with walnuts, coconut, and ice cream. We’ve said you will have 6 servings but you can divide the bananas across as many servings as you need.

Drizzle with cooking sauce, serve, and enjoy!

How Do I make Bananas Foster Without Alcohol?

Don’t have rum or want to leave the alcohol out of your Bananas Foster? You can substitute equal parts apple or grape juice for the rum. Put in a splash of vanilla extract to give it a bit more of the “right” flavor.
