Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter melted
  • 1 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1/2 cup all purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/8 tsp baking soda
  • pinch of salt if not using salted butter
  • 1/3 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup Philly Chocolate Cream Cheese

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Grease and flour an 8X8 baking pan.
  • In a mixing bowl whisk together melted butter and brown sugar.
  • Add the egg and vanilla extract.
  • Whisk well.
  • Add flours, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
  • Mix well with a spoon.
  • Fold in chocolate chips.
  • Spread in to prepared pan.
  • Dollop the chocolate cream cheese on top of the blondie batter.
  • Drag a butter knife through the cream cheese to swirl it in to the top of the blondie batter.
  • Bake for 25 - 30 minutes or until a tooth pick comes out clean.
  • Cool on a wire rack in the pan and then cut in to squares.
