Big Hill Springs Provincial Park

Often we default to indoor activities on the weekends when we’re not camping.  We live such a busy life that it’s often easy to get sucked into vegging on the couch.  I’ve been trying to fight that urge and get outdoors more when we can.  This past weekend, we decided to visit Big Hill Springs Provincial Park.  It’s only about 20 minutes from our house but I had never heard of it before I read a post about it over at Family Fun Calgary.  It is a very family friendly park with a short hike and a great shallow creek for the kids to splash around in.  It can get pretty crowded on sunny weekend days.  There are 3 picnic tables in case you want to pack lunch but pack a blanket just in case because they may be taken.

We love looking at the creek and the waterfalls

Big Hill Springs Provincial Park is located on Range Road 34A just south of Big Hill Springs Road.  We will definitely be visiting again soon!

Look at those trees! I miss trees so much, especially this time of year when they're starting to change colors. Looks like a fun little adventure.

That's an awesome creek. I love creeks that are shallow enough to walk in. We had very few of those around here. They remind me of where I grew up.

Definitely worth a visit. I was so surprised I'd never heard of it.
