Welcome back, foodie friends! Merry here, and welcome to my slice of the internet: Merry About Town. On this blog, you’ll find tons of homemade recipes that are easy to whip-up and easy on the wallet.

Today, I’d like to introduce you to my Alfredo Pesto Pasta.

It’s easy to make, incredibly flavorful, and perfect for those nights when you want something quick but extra comforting.

What Is Alfredo Pesto Pasta?

Alfredo Pesto Pasta is a delicious hybrid of two classic sauces. The Alfredo base brings the creaminess from cooking cream, Parmesan, and cheddar, while the pesto adds an aromatic basil punch.

I love the fact that it’s a one-pan sauce. It truly comes together quickly, making it ideal for weeknight dinners (which is something I’m quite well known for!)

Can I Use Store-Bought Pesto?

Yes! Store-bought pesto works great for this recipe and saves time. If you have homemade pesto on hand, that’s even better. In fact, if you wanted to try your hand at homemade pesto, I have a recipe that you can check out.

What Pasta Works Best for Alfredo Pesto?

I particularly love fettuccine or spaghetti for this particular dish. However, many people love using it on tortellini: especially cheese tortellini, as it gives them that double cheesy flavor!

How Do You Store Leftovers?

Allow any leftovers to cool completely and store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

To reheat, pour contents into a pot over medium heat, and stir. You can always add a splash of milk or cream to loosen up the sauce.

Can You Add Protein or Veggies?

Definitely! Grilled chicken, shrimp, or even crispy pancetta are great additions. Steamed broccoli, spinach, or sun-dried tomatoes would also blend beautifully with the creamy pesto sauce.
