How do YOU Make Cinnamon Toast?

Cinnamon toast is one of my guilty pleasures that reminds me of my childhood. Before I met my husband, I just assumed that everyone made it the same way….spread butter on bread, sprinkle with sugar, sprinkle with cinnamon & then in the toaster oven (preferred) or oven for toasting. I was wrong. My husband toasts the bread first, butters the toast & then sprinkles with sugar and cinnamon.

I hate to tell him though…..

that way is WRONG oh so WRONG. You don’t get the sugar nice and crispy and caramelized that way. My way is MUCH BETTER. There…I said it!

What do you think?

I make it your husband's way, but I am definitely going to try your way! Thanks!

I use the oven so I toast one side, the take the bread out and add the butter, sugar and cinnamon. I like the sugar mixture caramalized too!

I am definitely on your side with a preference for the oven rather than toaster-oven. I like the crunchy top with the slightly soft bottom. My mom made this for us many times as a quick treat. We also mix the cinnamon and sugar before spreading onto the buttered toast. Also, if you have other kids (or adults) over, doing it in the oven it is a great way to serve a lot at the same time. Your picture looks amazing!

It is nice to have a bit of texture difference, isn't it.
