Smoothies are a great way to start your day. Unfortunately, I have fallen off the breakfast bandwagon lately. It’s easy to forgo fixing breakfast and think “One more cup of coffee counts as breakfast, right?” Unfortunately, as yummy as coffee is, it is kind of lacking in the nutrients department. I decided to try a Protein Smoothie….hmmm….
So, I am on a mission to revamp my breakfast routine. This morning, I made a delicious and nutritious smoothie with an extra kick of protein thanks to Burnbrae Naturegg™ Simply Egg Whites™. They are pasteurized so you can add the nutrition of egg whites without worrying about using raw eggs that need to be separated. Instead, just pour out of the carton. Easy peasy! Plus 1/4 cup of Naturegg™ Simply Egg Whites™ adds 7 grams of protein but only 30 calories.
I had no idea that you could use egg whites for this. Plus you can’t taste it AT ALL. It’s a great way to add that needed protein to your breakfast without having to cook eggs for breakfast. Fast, easy, delicious and filling. That sounds like a win to me.
Play around with different fruit combinations to switch things up. I like to keep bags of frozen fruit in the freezer so that I can make a smoothie that matches my tastes for the day.
